Line Drawn In The Sand

Acts 5:29

“But Peter and the other apostles answered and said: We ought to obey God rather than men.”

“You may be shocked as I was, to find that the teachings of many are not biblical, and from there you will find a dividing line, a choice to be made. Will you continue to follow what is false, what you know to be “safe” in its familiarity, will you be a follower of man, or will you risk all – your ministry, your reputation, your friendships, and one day maybe even your very life to follow Christ? These are becoming perilous, dangerous times to be called by His name.” - m’ kayla’s Korner.

Dividing lines? Perilous and dangerous times? Risking all to follow Christ? Absolutely, when you reflect on what well known evangelical leaders are teaching today! To the untrained eye things seem to be as it always has. A shift is taking place in the church today as a wave of evangelical leaders are adopting and promoting the Word of Faith, the New Apostolic Reformation and Emergent Church agenda. That shift is a move away from historical Christianity and the foundational truths which had at one time formed a common bond between evangelicals. It appears in these days the church has turned on itself, for now practices such as contemplative prayer, soaking prayer, Sozo deliverance ministries are replacing the orthodox position. Apostasy can be defined as a violation of orthodoxy that takes the form of abandonment of the faith, especially where it is characterized by the departure from the accepted beliefs and standards of God’s Word. dreamstimeweb_1234873What they have done is recreated and redefined Christianity. The result is a whole new religion which in effect has nothing in common with historical Christianity. In fact, it is not Christianity at all. More of a blend of New Age thought and theology, and Eastern Mysticism. All of which is Christianized. Same thing Constantine did by blending pagan practice with Christianity, resulting in the Roman Catholic Church.

To the Emergent church, NAR and WoF leaders, those of us who conform to the ideology, ethical, and moral principles of Scripture are seen as a stumbling block to the (so called) renewal they seek. Out of these movements lines are being drawn and many of our beloved leadership are crossing over. Shortly it will become an “us and them” scenario, and those of “us” who contend for the faith, according to “them,” will have to be eradicated. Richard Abanes, author and speaker, in his book End-Time Visions: The Road to Armageddon, criticizes many Christians who believe we should discuss prophecy and that there is indeed a coming Armageddon. He puts solid, Bible-based Christian leaders in the same category as cult leaders such as David Koresh, who led his group to an untimely end. 7002In the book, Reinventing Jesus Christ, he quotes Barbara Marx Hubbardwho says that those who believe in an Armageddon are self-centered people who if not stopped will actually cause a self-fulfilling prophecy to take place – the destruction of the world. Marx Hubbard in her book “Revelation” tells us of a global peace plan and she calls it an “Armageddon alternative.” This alternative can actually save the world from Armageddon, she says, but only if enough people believe it and only if the world can be rid of these self-centered doomsdayers. “The species known as self-centered humanity will become extinct.

New Age leader, Barbara Marx Hubbard has stated, “people will either change or die,” for “that is the choice.” According to those who would concur with Hubbard, Christians will need to be more open minded so they too can receive the mark of the Antichrist. If they will not join with the global community and its agenda, they will be killed by the “opened minded” New Agers. She states that, “This act is as horrible as killing a cancer cell. It must be done (or the sake of the future of the whole. So be it; be prepared for the selection process which is now beginning. We, the elders, have been patiently waiting until the very last moment before the quantum transformation, to take action to cut out this corrupted and corrupting element in the body of humanity. It is like watching a cancer grow; something must be done before the whole body is destroyed…. The destructive one fourth must be eliminated from the social body.” from Joe Schimmel, “The Coming Persecution”

The question to be asked is, are those of us who maintain a proper Biblical Exegeses and strive to preserve the foundational truths passed on to us by the Apostles through the Holy Scriptures really obstructing a renewal, or, are the Emergent, NAR and Word of Faith movements fulfilling eschatological prophecy? Is the Triune God now divided, has He changed His mind by providing an alternative to Armageddon through extra Biblical revelation to people such as Barbara Marx Hubbard? Revelation that cancel’s out Scripture inspired by His own Spirit being God’s own utterance? I can say, this is where I draw a line in the sand, and hold to the Holy Write which has stood Colorful_Abstract_3D_Wallpapers_laba.wsthe test of time! For the Holy Spirit Himself has spoken openly and prophetically that a period of time would come when some would apostatize, denying the essential doctrines of Christianity being seduced by deceiving spirits teaching doctrines aspired by Satan. “Now the Spirit explicitly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons, speaking lies in hypocrisy, having their own conscience seared with a hot iron” – 1 Tim. 4:1-2. Abandoning God’s Word they have become insensitive to spiritual/Biblical truth.

I present another question, could the Emergent Church, the NAR and WoF movement be the Catalyst that ushers in the 70th week of Daniel with a one world religious system (Rev. 17:3-6)? There own words fit into the eschatological events revealed to us by Scripture as (I believe) we stand on the threshold of the 70thprophetic week spoken of by Daniel when the Man of sin (antichrist) who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped, so that he sits as God in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God (2 Thess 2:3-4). Igniting a holy war he will attempt to exterminate God’s elect nation (Israel) along with God’s elect church, taught by Jesus to be the Great Tribulation – (Matt. 24, Rev. 12:7-13:10). And from the looks of things, these Emergent, NAR and WoF leaders will be standing by his side cheering him on as the Bond Servants of Jesus Christ will forfeit their lives for the Word of God and the testimony of Jesus Christ – Rev. 6:9, 12:11,17, 14:12.

So what do we do in the mean time? My dear brother and sister, draw the line in the sand! Stand true to God’s Word no matter the cost. As M’ Kayla stated at the top of this article, be willing to risk all for the sake of the Gospel, for the sake of Jesus Christ who bought us and cleansed us with His blood, we can do no less. Stay the course; keep Jesus as the spotlight in this darkened world.

  1. It’s good to remember that scripture refers to FALSE teachers and FALSE prophets and FALSE apostles because they masquerade and look similar to the true. Otherwise they would just be called liars.

  2. No Becky I haven’t read it, sounds like it would be worth the read. I’ll look it up on Kendal see if they have it. Thanks, and keep fighting the good fight sis.

  3. Mike, This has been going on from the birth of the Body of Christ. Having to draw a line in the sand and so many failing to do so. The Word is Truth and it is a very narrow road and few who find it. John is reading a book right now titled “Pagan Christianity: Exploring the roots of our church practice” by Frank Viola and George Barna. It’s a very interesting look at the styles of worship, church practice, even the very structure of the buildings we call churches. Have you ever read it?

  5. Amen…..line is drawn!! This is a very good presentation on how the false doctrines have infiltrated the body of Christ. They are very clever, 99% sounds like the traditional doctrines but at strategic moments they inject the lies. I have been subjected to it myself in different denominations and nondenominations, I thank God that I read Galacians and Jude. Those were the books that the Holy Spirit directed me to during times of confusion. A pinch of arsenic in a glass of clear water still has the potential to kill if injested!! Keep the faith!!!!
