Sunday Sound Bites: Stand still and know that I am God

This weeks Sunday Sound Bite I’ve decided to share a post that I believe is accurate.  Centered around Psalms 46:10 we see yet another verse of Scripture wrested and used to promote the mystical prayer called contemplative prayer.

BE STILL: CONTEMPLATIVE OR LISTENING PRAYER 7 PSALM 46:10

  1. Good commentary. i agree. i have seen this before and have commented about it in some of my own writings since I was once into occult practices. It was this exact issue that cause me to break free. The biggest danger we face, which is no different than in Constantine’s time, is the gnostics gaining traction in perverting the message through experienctial movements. Good honest Christians, wanting a deeper relationship are being lead to a dead end. At the end of the day, Holy Spirit knows our heart and gives us grace, but once the light bulb is turned on, we have a responsibility to correct our course.

i have been involved in groups that have also “opened themselves up” and what people fail to realize is that not everyone around you is spiritually whole. Many times I have had to pray for cleansing after a big gathering, because I was near someone who carrying something. I will usually have weird dreams that same night.

There is a big push to couple entertainment with Christ’s message which is fine if held in check, but once I start seeing the smoke machines, i cringe. The truth is truth and if you must wrap it in a more suitbale wrapper to attract people, then you are amazing people instead ministering to them.

Lastly, to prevent attacks from unwanted guests, I have found that praying in tongues for personal edification has an immediate effect and a layer of protection that has fine tuned my discernement lately. While many people may not believe in this, Paul spent time on the topic and once I prayed on this for many years, it finally transpired. Today my faith towards God is much stronger than ever before with my feet firmly planted on the ground.
