Unstable Wrest

2Pe 3:16  As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction.

2Pe 3:17  Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know these things before, beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own stedfastness

John MacArthur, recently, with his unstable about face on obeying government guidelines concerning the Corona virus is now defying those guidelines, defining truth as the rightwing Christianized politics, going so far as to say if you do not vote conservative, you’re not a true believer in God. Sadly, there are many who actually buy into this thinking and reasoning.

“We love God, we desire to honor him, and upholding righteousness in a society is what a church is supposed to do,” he explained. “So I said, any real, true believer is going to be on your side in this election because it’s not just an individual, it’s an entire set of policies that Christians cannot, in any way, affirm.” (1) https://www.foxnews.com/faith-values/california-pastor-told-trump-any-real-true-believer-will-vote-for-him-over-biden

If there are not any red flags or flashing lights or sirens going off then one needs to return to the scriptures and re-evaluate what is truth. The above quote are from this year 2020. So lets take a look at what J. Mac said in 2016 during the elections.

Presidents in the big scheme of things relative to the kingdom of God, don’t matter, they don’t matter at all. Those leaders who do not know the Lord Jesus Christ, have no place in His kingdom but are part of the kingdom of darkness. They cannot advance the kingdom of God nor can they hinder it. “ (0:05 mark) (2) https://youtu.be/naRpV_rn9YQ

“The people who matter in this world are the people that advance the kingdom of God. The world will be what it is, it will always be what it is. It will always be made up of those who are the servants of the kingdom of darkness. That’s what it is.” (0,50 mark)

Yet now, “upholding righteousness in a society is what church is supposed to do” translates to righteousness being defined by a political party, according to J Mac.

Since 2016 there has been an obvious, blatant, ongoing spiritualization of Trump’s presidency, before, during, and certainly these last four years after his election.  And an inseparable preaching of “God and Country” coming from the pulpits. Four years later we can see just how much this has grown into a literal belief system and in some respects an “new” religion however false it may be.

Many of the spiritual leaders who rallied behind Trump at all cost, are doing so at the cost of the gospel and the Word of God.  Most of these leaders are also supposedly well-known discernment preachers/leaders. Those who have exposed false teachers within the body of Christ. Yet, I have not heard them speak about all the false teachers that not only supported Trump but laid hands on him and prayed over him. Let’s get real, his current spiritual advisor is a false teacher and yet there is no outcry or warning from the church leadership to the sheep. Why? Now four years later we are told that to be a true Christian one must vote for Trump. How does that play out in scripture? Are we really supposed to believe that a leader who is surrounded with false teachers and prophets is God sent? Clearly the “vote the issues” has been laid aside.  Truly this is deception and leaven at it’s finest.
Placing the focus on the politics of the world and our constitutional rights should take a backseat to what Scripture teaches us and how we as believers are defined in the Word, not the world. The fact is the two shouldn’t even be in the same vehicle. The litmus test for a true believer is now gauged by a worldly system according to John MacArthur.  If one looks at his teachings on Charismatics, he has condemned them to hell along with anyone who would vote democrat it seems.
It may be obvious to some as to how much teaching like this should be avoided and  yes its not only teaching, it’s now doctrine, it comes from the pulpit. There are many that have been blinded by decades of conditioning of blending God and country, church and state together and many are falling for it and simply cannot discern the difference.

John 17:14-16 I have given them your word and the world has hated them, for they are not of the world any more than I am of the world. My prayer is not that you take them out of the world but that you protect them from the evil one. They are not of the world, even as I am not of it.

John 17:14-16 I have given them your word and the world has hated them, for they are not of the world any more than I am of the world. My prayer is not that you take them out of the world but that you protect them from the evil one. They are not of the world, even as I am not of it.

Ephesians 6:12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.

Folks we need to truly understand that our battles are not in this world even though they are of the world; but that the fight is spiritual, not in a voting booth or in the courts of this world. We need to regain once again our first love, our first faith in Christ and Him ALONE.

Romans 8:1 “There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.”

That includes any democrat that is born again. We must stop listening to and believing the supposed spiritual leaders that preach this stuff from their pulpits. We need to study and search the scriptures for ourselves and wake up.
