John MacArthur teaches false doctrine on so many different levels that it is not possible to address every one of them adequately in a single post. This initial post is an overview and a critique of the doctrines and practices of John MacArthur and his apologist JD Hall.
The blasphemous doctrines of Calvinism via TULIP take the scriptures to hideous extremes that were never intended by the NT writers under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. Calvinism (aka Reformed Theology) has its roots in Augustinianism not in the scriptures. The teaching that only a chosen few are saved (limited atonement) destroys Jesus’ carte blanche invitation to all men. (John 3:16; 1 John 2:2). All five TULIP points are interdependent and severely obstruct biblical soteriology. Consequently, Calvinism horribly misrepresents the true gospel of Jesus Christ. (1 Timothy 4:1).
But I am afraid that as the serpent deceived Eve by his cunning, your thoughts will be led astray from a sincere and pure devotion to Christ. For if someone comes and proclaims another Jesus than the one we proclaimed, or if you receive a different spirit from the one you received, or if you accept a different gospel from the one you accepted, you put up with it readily enough. Both websites are in agreement with John MacArthur, who, after receiving a congratulatory call from Donald Trump, stated that genuine Christians should vote for him. What difference is there between this and Trump’s close association with the NAR? Will we see MacArthur holding hands NAR leaders next? Trump may outwardly profess some “Christian” values in comparison with his opponents. However his association with false teachers Paula White, Kenneth Copeland etc. speaks for itself. If we are to believe Michael Cohen, Trump’s former personal attorney and “fixer”, Trump privately derides them and their practices:

It is never easy or pleasant to hear or read about errors of someone you know and like. While it may be of no benefit to you the information may be of help to someone else.
I am not a Calvinist nor a John Mac follower, but I like JD. There are so many heretics out there to go after, JD is not one. By the way, I know him. My 2 cents. No, I don’t have time for a long debate on this. We need to get the gospel out, Time is short.
Treena, I have to say as an American myself, when it comes to spiritualizing politics the average American Christian are the dumbest people on the planet!
JD Hall is a smart guy, intellectually speaking, but being a Calvinist he puts his theology over the plain read of scripture and misses some common sense issues that the Calvinist explain away with lengthy, looooong winded philosophical “mambo-jumbo” that ends up straining at nats and swallows camels.
Why be angry at the man/men who reject the Gospel in that video? Didn’t God make them that way? And why would God “give that man the middle finger” when it was God in his sovereignty that made that man obstinate and destined for hell to begin with?
JD’s might be that he intuitively knows this man IS responsible for his own actions, and God gave these men the free will to say yes OR no to the Gospel.
I like JD Hall (and many other Calvinists). I appreciate their faithfulness to the scriptures, but when it comes to TULIP I have to part ways because they insert a bias into the scripture instead of just sticking to what the Bible says.

Once one starts to test the teachings/doctrines such as this and hold them to the light of Scripture, they fail in the truth of God’s Word. It seems that many in pews, pulpits and other ministries are willing to look the other way when, it is of benefit to them. Just as twisting and cherry-picking scriptures on what is deemed a “non-essential” is given a free pass by the many, rather than correct and rebuke and exhort. Most will dismiss it as not of “essential” importance, therefore not worth the time or effort; yet they ignore the mutilation of verses, eisegeses, and corrupted teachings of the scriptures. We all know that nowhere in the Scriptures is anyone given a pass for altering what the verses say and all are warned not to. We have witnessed John MacArthur do this on a grand scale concerning his personal eisegeses in defying government guidelines.
This of course is not the first time the J. Mac has cut and pasted verses, even though he will tout himself as abhorring eisegeses and claims to preach all the Word of God exegetically. He has honed his skills of inserting what Jesus thinks, wants, and feels about topics, where scriptures lay silent. We see this in his widow’s mite teaching from his Strange Fire conference a few years ago. It meant his agenda to change the widow into a follower of charismania trying to buy her salvation. Even though this very teaching contradicted his pervious teachings of the same scriptures. Also as the article pointed out there are other topics in which J. Mac has been shown to be in error.
Now we see him doing the same thing with the Scriptures concerning how we are to obey government guidelines which he taught and preached from spring to mid-summer and then completely flipped to defying the guidelines, all in the name of Christ. It is maddening to listening to him manipulate and mangle the Word to suit his agenda.
It is true that the enemy of my enemy is my friend when it comes to a common enemy of those who are opposed to one another. Prime example is the push of evangelicals in the past election for the current President, even though he was surrounded by false teachers prophesying and praying over him and his spiritual advisor is a known false teacher that many in the evangelical camp have publicly condemned, at least prior to her receiving the position. There should have been an outcry from ALL those who stood against these false teachers, when they prayed and prophesied over the Trump and when Paula White came to power as his spiritual advisor, yet there was silence, complicity and compromise from those who had previously sounded the alarm against such false teachers. John MacArthur is not alone in this, there are a multitude that stood by silently and even some trying to explain it away with Trump is just a “baby Christian” and doesn’t know better OR I’m not voting for a Pastor but a President but still keep God’s will in it.
John MacArthur has in effect aligned himself with those he condemns as false teachers (and they are), the NAR, Bethel, Kingdom Now, by blending politics/government with the church and our faith in Christ. He places salvation squarely into the Republican and Democratic parties, laying claim to who is truly a “Christian”, which is proven by who you vote for. This is no different that the Seven Mountain Mandate from the NAR that calls for Christians to take over the political and social arenas of the world so that Christ can return. By altering and misplacing our faith in Christ, and Him alone; he inserts the worlds politics; so that those false teachers (NAR, Bethel etc.) are given a “silent” pass since they now have common ground, albeit worldly and fleshly as is it. Again, unholy alliance.
