John 2:16 Then to those who sold the doves He said, Take these things away (out of here)! Make not My Father’s house a house of merchandise (a marketplace, a sales shop)! [Ps. 93:5.]
2Peter 2:1 But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.
2Pe 2:2 And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of.
2Pe 2:3 And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not.
Rev 18:10 Standing afar off for the fear of her torment, saying, Alas, alas, that great city Babylon, that mighty city! for in one hour is thy judgment come.
Rev 18:11 And the merchants of the earth shall weep and mourn over her; for no man buyeth their merchandise any more:
Rev 18:12 The merchandise of gold, and silver, and precious stones, and of pearls, and fine linen, and purple, and silk, and scarlet, and all thyine wood, and all manner vessels of ivory, and all manner vessels of most precious wood, and of brass, and iron, and marble,
Rev 18:13 And cinnamon, and odours, and ointments, and frankincense, and wine, and oil, and fine flour, and wheat, and beasts, and sheep, and horses, and chariots, and slaves, and souls of men.
Here is what Ingrid Schlueter has to say about men such as these:
These men make me angry because they make a mockery of the office of the holy ministry. They are filthy dreamers (see Jeremiah) who speak a vision out of their own hearts and call it the “gospel.” They use familiar terms, but mean something completely different. They grind what’s holy under their feet and they defile the Lord’s house with rampant carnality to draw a crowd as though church is a carnival. The Holy Spirit is not needed by this brutal new gang of “pastors.” They value ‘influence’ and ‘leadership.’ God uses humble men of prayer who have shepherd’s hearts, not cocky, smart-alec, new media celebrity narcissists.
I don’t say “brutal new gang of pastors” lightly. I have personally interacted with them for years through Slice and Crosstalk, and they are merciless, dishonest, and if you dare to use Scripture to show why their teaching is off base, they will try to crush you and your reputation. God’s time of warning, I believe, is nearing an end. Things are escalating downhill so quickly now as the doctrinal foundations of Christianity have been pretty much destroyed in most denominations. The remnant really is a remnant and God will keep it pure.
Thank you Ingrid, couldn’t have said it any better!
